Communicating Your Identity: Strategies for Branding and Marketing for Small and Mid-sized Museums
One-Day Workshops presented by the California Association of Museums and the California Exhibition Resources Alliance
Supported in part by the host museums, the Asian Art Museum and the Discovery Science Center
This engaging workshop explored the role of branding, marketing, and PR in supporting both an excellent visitor experience and meeting institutional goals. At the workshop, participants were able to:
- Understand the positive power of branding and how to use it to further your institutional mission.
- Complete a “personality board” to take back to institutions to use as a guide for future branding efforts and see branding in action at other museums.
- Learn how to choose and work with a designer to achieve maximum effect for your budget.
- Better understand how to work with marketing, PR staff members, or outside firms to further institutional goals.
