ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT FOR, COLLEGE OF THE ARTS / CSU LONG BEACH

REGISTRAR / THE WENDE MUSEUM
The Wende Museum and Archive of the Cold War, located in Los Angeles, is the leading international institutional repository of Eastern European Cold War history, culture and art, with a collection of more than 100,000 objects. We are looking for a qualified full-time REGISTRAR to join our dynamic projects. Challenges include: Manage all museum collections including: planning and overseeing all registration, cataloging, organization, storage, maintenance and preservation (archival, artifact, art and library); Identify and purchase proper supplies; Research specific collections related issues, and consult appropriate specialists; Act as liaison between collection and visitor; provide tours, create didactics, provide reference/research assistance and access to the collection for interested scholars and the public; Process loan agreements; Recruit, train, and supervise Museum Aides (interns, work-study students and docents); Create, update, and implement training materials for Museum Aids. MUSEUM ASSISTANT / THE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND ART, ONTARIO, CA The Museum of History and Art, Ontario seeks a responsible individual to perform a variety of museum collection care activities and to assist professional staff in various programs. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the principles and ethical standards regarding museum collections care and management and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees, volunteers, City officials, and the public. HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR / AUTRY NATIONAL CENTER
This position will assist the Director of Human Resources in maintaining accurate records while ensuring compliance of all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour, worker’s compensation and related laws. Manage the museums’ billing for health, retirement and other benefits programs. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, and minimum 2-3 years experience in Human Resources, preferably as a generalist with exposure to such areas as benefits, workers compensation, recruitment, and compensation. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S OFFICE / FRESNO METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART AND SCIENCE

FACILITY & SECURITY MANAGER / FRESNO METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART AND SCIENCE
The Fresno Metropolitan Museum seeks a Facility & Security Manager to operate the newly-renovated 51,000sf museum opening to the public on November 13, 2008. The museum, accredited by the American Association of Museums and in association with the Smithsonian Institution, is completing a 3-year renovation of its historic 1922 Fresno Bee Building. It has been renovated inside and out, with 29,000sf of additional green space outside, and the opening of the building’s 4th and 5th floors for the first time in the organization’s history. A “backpack” structure contains new freight and passenger elevators, restroom facilities and stairwell. The museum’s offices are housed on the 5th floor – the first time the offices have been located inside the building. PROGRAMS COORDINATOR / HOMESTEAD MUSEUM
The Homestead Museum, a six-acre historic site located in eastern Los Angeles County, is accepting applications for a full-time Programs Coordinator. Responsibilities include: proposing, developing, coordinating, and promoting programs primarily focused on grades pre K-12; coordinating training for classroom and museum teachers; assisting with public programs and off-site presentations; and assisting with training and supervising volunteer staff. Minimum requirements include a BA in museum studies, education, history, or equivalent (MA is preferred); experience in successfully executing school based and non-school based programs; excellent writing, speaking, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills; and computer literacy. ASSOCIATE EDUCATION DIRECTOR/ SAN MATEO COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Associate Education Director develops, implements and evaluates the San Mateo County History Museum's education programs. Responsibilities include managing school programs and adult tours (including presenting tours for all age levels), coordinating public programs for adults and children, implementing docent training, coordinating outreach programs, creating printed materials and collaborating on educational interactives in exhibitions. The Associate Education Director will develop and manage program budgets, assist with the publicity of educational programs and work with staff and volunteers to meet the education goals of the organization's strategic plan. Advanced degree in museum studies, history or education with experience in a museum education department or four years equivalent experience needed. Full-time. WATER LAB MANAGER / CALIFORNIA SCIENCE CENTER
Responsible for ensuring the quality of the water biology and chemistry for a closed system of exhibit tanks including a 188,000 gallon kelp forest exhibit and several smaller marine/freshwater tanks. Responsible for maintaining the quality of the exhibit and holding tank water (ozone, pH, and nitrogen levels). Qualifications: BA/BS. 5+ years in similar position (AZA accredited preferred). Advanced knowledge of water chemistry and biology, and methods/procedures necessary for sampling and analysis of water quality. Excellent laboratory skills, problem solving skills, technical writing skills, and oral communication. Proven ability to supervise staff and work programs/software related to essential functions of position. Knowledge of OSHA and Cal OSHA standards. Experience creating/maintaining budgets. PART-TIME VETERINARIAN / CALIFORNIA SCIENCE CENTER
Responsible for providing leadership and consistent veterinary care to a diverse animal collection including fishes, reptiles, and mammals in mixed species exhibits (focusing on marine fishes). Participate in collection/planning/acquisition and will develop/implement a comprehensive preventative health/medical care program. Weekly involvement will start at 5-10 hours weekly with opportunity to work more hours as World of Ecology progresses. Qualifications: DVM or equivalent from AVMA-accredited institution AND completion of residency/internship in zoological medicine or 3+ years clinical experience (AZA accredited preferred). Valid Veterinary license or ability to obtain within first year of employment. ACZM certification preferred. Diagnostic skills and ability to interpret laboratory results. OPERATIONS MANAGER / THE NEW CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
Manages daily Museum operations in order to provide a safe, clean, and pleasant work environment and visitor experience. PUBLIC ART COORDINATOR / CITY OF WALNUT CREEK
The Public Art Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the Walnut Creek Public Art Program, which includes municipal and private development public art projects generated by the City’s public art ordinance. Work includes, but is not limited to, develop and implement public art programs for municipal capital improvement projects involving the design and integration of art into the construction of public sites and buildings; prepare, monitor and administering program budgets and contracts; manage art projects at various stages of development (writing RFP/RFQs, oversight of selection process); and management of all phases of design, fabrication, and installation of the artwork.
