Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for all accounts payable functions for the Hammer Museum. Major accounts payable functions include processing purchase orders and invoices; cutting checks and initiating wire payments; vendor management; performing related accounting procedures; overseeing proper storage and retention of accounting records; and assisting with the annual audit by providing copies of transactions that the auditors request to see. This position will also work closely with the Senior Accountant to cross-train and understand account receivable and revenue reconciliations.
