Archaeological Collections Manager

Under the direction of the Curator of Archaeology at the Fowler Museum at UCLA, the Archaeological Collections Manager will facilitate the daily implementation of Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and curatorial projects in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position will include training and oversight of staff and volunteers. Fosters community participation among underrepresented Native American tribes and communities by promoting consultation regarding collections at the Fowler Museum. May also include attending cultural and education committees out in the communities and within the University of California.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in anthropology, museum studies, American Indian Studies, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a museum or cultural center environment.
  • Working knowledge of museum related regulations, especially NAGPRA.
