Job opportunity:

The J. Paul Getty Museum seeks an experienced individual for Registrar for Exhibitions. Reporting to the Head of Registration, the Registrar for Exhibitions oversees and manages the budgeting, record keeping, and shipping and courier arrangements for museum loans and exhibitions.  They ensure that the highest standards in safe, professional handling are followed when lending, borrowing, packing, shipping, securing, importing, exporting and insuring works of art, as well as overseeing the master art shipping schedule.  The successful candidate is also responsible for the supervision of the Assistant and Associate Registrars for Exhibitions, and Associate Registrars for Outgoing Loans and Incoming Loans.  Maintains frequent contact with curatorial, conservation, preparation, exhibition, and administrative staff, Getty Risk Manager, representatives of other museums and institutions, brokers, dealers, lenders, and shipping and crating vendors.

Salary: $66,156 - $86,015
