Gallery Registrar

L.A. Louver is seeking a full-time Registrar with 2-5 years of experience in a gallery, shipping company or arts institution, and an excellent understanding of professional best practices.

Works with Director of Collections and Facilities and gallery preparators to organize shipping, framing, and conservation; maintain inventory database; and liaise with colleagues, artists, clients, and vendors.

Must be detail oriented, a good communicator, work well under deadlines, and have good professional judgment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
  • two years registration and/or collections management experience
  • Proficiency with art inventory / collections management database (ArtBase is ideal)
  • Proficiency with Mac OS X environment, MS Office Suite; Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Acrobat Pro) a plus
  • Knowledge of handling, storage, and transportation best practices
  • able to lift 30+ lbs
  • a valid CA driver’s license

Full-time, M-F

Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000, DOE, plus benefits.
