The Curatorial Assistant is a seasonal “Park Interpretive Specialist” position.  Employee will function as a curatorial assistant, responsible for maintenance, cleaning, preservation, and monitoring of the sector’s artifacts, exhibits, and historic resources.  Assistant will report to the Curator I.  Knowledge of object handling and cleaning procedures, and basic principles of conservation, are needed to carry out assigned responsibilities.  Bachelor’s degree is required.  Must maintain records detailing preservation work performed daily, and assist with inventory of collections and the artifact record system.

The reporting location for this position is Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park located at 2701 L Street in Sacramento. This position will also work at the State Indian Museum and other units in the Capital District. This is a year-round, part-time position, generally scheduled 125 hrs/month. Pay range $16.07-$19.49.
