The Senior Preparator at UCR ARTS is responsible for all aspects of preparation and production of approximately 14 exhibitions annually.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in coaching and supervising students and volunteers.
  • Experience in light construction techniques.
  • Experience in dry mounting and cutting exhibition text panels and captions.
  • 3 years’ experience working in arts or related environment.
  • 1 year of preparatory experience in museum or art gallery field

Requirements:

  • Skill in the use of conventional and power tools; temporary wall building; preparing and painting walls.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/timelines with close attention to detail.
  • Experience in preparation and care of works on paper (matting/framing).
  • Experience with A/V installations. Experience in art packing and handling.
  • Ability to move objects weighing 40lbs.
  • Efficient independent performance in supervising and installing fine art exhibits under strict timelines taking responsibility for results.

Salary:  $43,000-$47,400 annually
