The Development Director is a senior management position responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of donor cultivation and stewardship, including capital campaigns, annual giving, foundation and corporate support, endowment giving, planned giving, membership, and special fundraising events. The Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing the development strategy for the Museum of Ventura County. This position is responsible for achieving the organization’s fundraising goals and engaging patrons in ongoing activities.

The ideal Development Director will enjoy envisioning, developing, and implementing new programs, and will not be overly dependent on traditional fundraising methods. The Development Director will be enmeshed in the team that is working to redefine the Museum’s vision and develop programs and infrastructure that enable the Museum to achieve its long-term goals.

This position reports to the Executive Director, and supervises the Development Specialist, part-time development staff and oversees contracts with fundraising consultants.
