The Director of Youth & Family Programs oversees all of LACMA’s on-campus programming for intergenerational audiences, from early childhood to seniors. The position supervises 3 full-time staff and is responsible for a budget of $475,000.
The Director provides leadership in best practices in museum education, overseeing both in-person and digital program development, implementation and evaluation, and revising and updating Youth and Family programs to maintain LACMA’s role as a national leader in its engagement with intergenerational audiences. A major focus of the position is the growth and evaluation of NexGenLA, one of the museum’s largest membership programs, which provides free admission for anyone under 18 plus one adult. They stay current on issues affecting intergenerational audiences, and provide high level strategic approaches to programming, reaffirming LACMA’s role as an innovative and responsive resource for these constituencies.
