Japanese American National Museum’s Education Assistant facilitates the activities of the Group Visits Program. Responsibilities include scheduling group visits, volunteer docents and facilitators, and maintaining the group tour schedule on Altru and in Google calendar. Will work closely with staff and museum volunteers to fulfill institutional strategic priorities, Education Unit Teaching Philosophy, and On-Site School Visit Learning Objectives. Anti-bias and anti-racist teaching must be promoted.

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's preferred. Minimum one year experience in customer service at a non-profit, volunteer centered organization. Administrative assistant experience in Education or visitor/customer service in a museum a plus. Understanding of basic principles of volunteer management. Museum education experience beneficial. Knowledge of Japanese American history and culture a plus. Experience with MS Office, Zoom, Altru or similar software preferred. Google Calendar and Gmail a plus.

Full-Time (up to 40 hours a week), Tuesday to Saturday. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
