Docent Scheduler

J. Paul Getty Museum

Los Angeles, California

The opportunity:

The Education Department at the J. Paul Getty Museum seeks a Docent Scheduler to coordinate planning and scheduling activities for the museum’s public tour program across the Getty Center and Getty Villa.  Annually, over one million visitors enjoy the Getty’s special exhibitions and collections and take advantage of in-depth tours led by docents and gallery educators.

The Docent Scheduler is an essential role within the Museum’s Education Department, as this person oversees the deployment of docents and resources to ensure adequate coverage and staffing based on high-volume visitor traffic and internal/external special requests. The person needs to be a strategic thinker to handle complex tour mapping across both sites, a problem solver, diplomatic, and extremely detail oriented. Additionally, the Docent Scheduler updates and maintains the Docent Program website and all its resources, ranging from art historical content to docent calendars.

Hiring Pay Scale: $23.02 - $28.77 Hourly
