$4,142 to $5,829 monthly (26 pay periods annually)
Part-time (20-30 hours per week)

The Maidu Museum & Historic Site is a Native American museum that focuses on the history, culture, and arts of the Maidu people. The Curator will be working on organizing temporary art exhibits and a free monthly evening program. This position is responsible for the permanent collections and exhibit maintenance. The Curator will also be assisting the in the development and organization of a new Native Advisory Board. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience planning and installing art, history, and/or cultural exhibits
  • Has experience working with Native American communities (preferably in Northern California)
  • Knowledgeable about best practices for Native American museum collections
  • Can organize projects and events on with a team and independently
  • Interested in engaging audiences of all ages and from diverse backgrounds
