Museum Educator (Part-Time)

The Chumash Indian Museum in Thousand Oaks is seeking a part time Museum Educator to conduct education programming, including school tours, guided nature hikes and group tours of the museum exhibits and grounds. The Museum Educator may also lead public education programs for museum events and perform general museum operational tasks during public hours as needed.

The successful candidate will be a respectful advocate of Chumash culture, have strong organizational abilities as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. This is an ideal position for college students and recent graduates interested in museums and indigenous culture. Members of California Native communities are highly encouraged to apply.

This position is classified as non-exempt and works 10-25 hours per week. Schedule will include at least two weekdays per week and some weekend shifts. Compensation starts at $18 per hour.
