Job Description:
The Hammer Museum is seeking a Teaching Artist for the 2022-23 academic year. This is an independent contractor position.

The teaching artist will develop and implement age-appropriate art-making activities related to Hammer exhibitions for Classroom-in-Residence @ the Hammer (CRH), a program designed to strengthen student and teacher learning about art through a weeklong experience at the museum.

The teaching artist will develop and implement art lessons that engage 4th-6th grade students Hammer artworks, English Language Arts standards, and programmatic themes. They will work closely with the Hammer’s Specialist for Family and K-12 Audiences in addition to faculty and staff of the UCLA Visual and Performing Arts Education program (VAPAE), undergraduate students, and classroom teachers.

Pay Info: The teaching artist is an independent contractor who will be paid $50/hr. Project shall not exceed 100 hours.
