Store Associate, Part-Time, Temporary

Responsible for promoting and processing sales/orders and providing customer service. Assure that store is neat and orderly and merchandise is attractively displayed and well stocked. Answer and return phone, mail, and web site orders. Package and ship orders as well as update customer databases as needed. Must be able to interact and motivate store volunteers. Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a retail environment. Excellent telephone skills, adept with handling cash and processing sales. Knowledge of Japanese American history/culture desired. Previous non-profit or museum experience preferred. Experience with Retail Star, Shopify or similar POS system and Altru database.


Two positions available:

  • (15-24 hours/week) Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays
  • (16 hours/week) Wednesdays, Saturdays

Some flexibility in scheduling but must include one weekend. Must be available for Black Friday weekend. Clear background check required. EOE.
