The Visitor Services Associate at the Japanese American National Museum creates an inviting, professional environment for museum patrons by providing excellent front-line service in the lobby, by phone, and email. Processes admission, direct incoming phone calls, and disseminate general information on exhibitions/museum programs. Bachelor’s preferred. Minimum one-year front-line customer service/receptionist experience. Familiarity with reception lobby tasks dealing with the general public as guests. Sensitivity to Japanese American and Asian American history, culture, and community required. Familiarity with POS system and handling ticket/payments. Ability to follow public health protocols and procedures. Prior non-profit experience and working with volunteers is beneficial. Familiar with Google Suite, MS Office and Altru database preferred. Clear background check and credit check; fully vaccinated + Boosted for COVID-19 required to work on-site.
