THANK YOU FOR SB 963, CALIFORNIA CULTURE AND HISTORY INVESTMENTS ACT

CAM is excited to announce that the California Culture and History Investments Act, a bill that updates the funding priorities for the Museum Grant Program has been enacted and demonstrates a commitment by the state to support the vital work of museums in the ways that reflect and bolster the priorities of the State of California.

Senate Bill 963 by Senator John Laird (D-Santa Cruz) updates findings and funding priorities that were originally established 20 years ago through the California Cultural and Historical Endowment Act.

California’s museums will now deepen their role as key partners in serving underserved communities, fighting misinformation, promoting understanding of critical issues, improving access to and protection of important cultural and historic assets, broadening exposure to the state’s diverse history, and supporting the ethical stewardship of sensitive art and artifacts.
