CAM 2023: On Common Ground
The last several years have brought about unprecedented change in the museum field, reflecting the shifts in society at large. From revenue streams uprooted by the pandemic and public safety measures, to a renewed focus on race, equity, and labor that have caused deep reflection and changes to entrenched practices, the recent themes of museum work have been rooted in change. In 2023, museum professionals from across California will be ready to come together and look forward to how we can embrace those changes and move forward as a field.
The 2023 CAM conference, On Common Ground, will take place in Oakland, March 8–11, 2023. Museums and museum professionals have experienced extraordinary changes and opportunities in the last few years. After a virtual conference in 2021 and five mini-conferences across California in 2022, CAM is looking forward to gathering together once more with our colleagues on common ground again.
We can't wait to gather in person with you all! Watch this space in the coming months for more details on the venue, registration, preliminary program, sponsorship and advertising opportunities, and more.
CAM 2023 Conference Registration is now available. Online registration ends on February 17, 2023, and onsite registration in March may be available pending capacity. View the 2023 Conference Pricing Sheet. If you have questions about registration, please contact Michelle Rader, Administrative Manager.
The Preliminary Conference Program is now available. Proposals from museum professionals all across the state of California have been reviewed and fine tuned, and we're thrilled to share this preliminary offering of sessions that will be featured in spring! The Preliminary Program will continue to be updated every two weeks to reflect new additions as we add and finalize exciting, relevant, and engaging topics. If you have questions about the program, please contact Rochelle Hoffman, Program Manager.
